Adopt a Student Scholarship

     Catholic schools are second to none in providing a high-quality, values-based education where students learn to respect themselves and others.  But many families in our community who want a brighter, faith-filled future for their child can’t afford the benefit of a Catholic school education.

    Instilling the values of hard work, respect, and reaching their full potential is part of our Catholic mission. Scholarships are awarded not only on financial need but also on academic merit and service involvement.  Each recipient must adhere to their school’s code of conduct and become involved in an extracurricular activity such as student council, youth group, children’s choir or athletics. In addition, each family must volunteer service to the school and pay a portion of the tuition fee — creating a true partnership and investment by all.

Friends of Archbishop Bergan Catholic Elementary

 Archbishop Bergan Catholic Elementary School offers children a unique educational experience. Our challenging academic program, philosophy of service learning and commitment to developing disciples of Jesus, makes us the best school imaginable. Teachers, administrators, and students work together to create a school community where young people can grow to be intellectually competent, faith-filled, respectful persons with principles that promote faith, peace, and service.

Students not only have the opportunity to learn the basic academic curriculum, but also, to speak a foreign language, play keyboard and violin, and learn through lessons presented in a wide variety of ways using music, cooperative learning, art activities, role play, multimedia, field trips, inner reflection, and much more. To insure our ability to continue to offer our students this unique education for years to come, an endowment has been created called “Friends of Archbishop Bergan Elementary”.

“Friends of Bergan Elementary” are supporters who annually contribute a minimum of $1000.00 to an endowment fund of their interest: Friends of Literacy, Friends of Performing Arts, or Friends of Technology. “Friends of Bergan Elementary” receive personal invitations to school events and performances, reserved seating at school performances, monthly newsletters, and are invited to an annual “Evening of Appreciation”.

We invite you to visit and witness our school’s strong Catholic roots and high academic expectations. We have weekly Mass in our Chapel, held each Thursday at 9:00 a.m. All parishioners and community members are invited to attend.

Scrip

Scrip only take a few extra minutes and incur no extra cost to you. Best of all, anyone, anywhere can support our school. Grandparents, teachers, neighbors, and co-workers can all participate. With everyone’s help we can really make great things happen.  Our Scrip program buys many different gift cards to stores, hotels, and restaurants in Fremont, Omaha, and throughout the U.S. Each merchant donates a percentage back to Archbishop Bergan School. See attached sheet for a list of merchants and percentages received. SCRIP is sold after masses on Sunday, and weekly at the church office.

Tuition Reimbursement through Scrip: If you have a child that attends Bergan, Scrip can help with the cost of tuition. Every time you buy Scrip, 2% of the amount the merchant contributes goes to the child’s tuition.

SCRIP Program Helps Defray the Cost of Tuition The SCRIP program has potential of raising over $45,000 for Archbishop Bergan Catholic School. To boost sales over last year, the SCRIP program will now allow the SCRIP purchaser to contribute tuition credit to the family of their choice when purchasing SCRIP. Calling all Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, friends, neighbors-this is your chance to reduce the tuition costs for the family of your choice!!! Not only would you be helping that family but helping the school as well. As you make your purchase, please list the family you would like to help in the area provided on the SCRIP form starting March 1st, 2008.
 

Hy-Vee Receipts

Send your Hy-Vee receipts back to school and Hy-Vee will give us a $1.00 back for every $150.00 in receipts.  Bergan Elementary has received the maximum benefit from this program each year thanks to those who collect!  This money is allocated to our playground and outdoor classroom.
