Preventative Measure, 12/09/2022

At 8:25 AM on Friday December 9, 2022, Bergan School Administration was contacted by the Fremont Police Department informing them that a situation was taking place at a house on the corner of 2nd and Clarkson, which is one block south of Bergan High School.  The suggestion was given to secure the building and the students so Bergan High School and Bergan Early Childhood Education Center went into what is called a SECURE.  Under this practice the school continues its operation and instruction, a building’s exterior doors are checked to be sure they are locked, 1st floor windows are covered and no one is allowed to enter or exit the building.  At 9:00 am, Fremont Law enforcement officers informed Bergan School Administration that the situation was under control, so the SECURE that had been put into place expired.  At no time were any students or staff in danger.  This SECURE was put into place today as a preventative measure to be certain that everyone was kept safe.
