Knight Code HS/MS Students of the Semester

For 2018-2019, the two students selected for the first semester are senior Thunder (Lance) Myers and seventh-grader Emerson Knoell. Staff was asked to contribute a sentence or two with their final nominations. The Parent Knights have helped create an additional recognition with the Knight's Code Student of the Month awards. This year, at the end of each semester, two students will be selected by the entire staff using the same criteria. It just is used to examine the semester performance, not just for the previous month. Over twenty students were initially nominated, which required several selection processes and represented how difficult student selection is every month.

Thunder (Lance) Myers is a genuine and enthusiastic person who has a zest for life that is evident in all of his actions and interactions with fellow students. Thunder is a wonderful role model in showing how we are to treat others. He always seems to have a smile on his face and brings a wonderfully positive attitude to whatever he is involved in, whether in class or out in the world. Thunder also supports his fellow athletes on and off the court. In his daily interactions with others, Thunder displays numerous qualities needed to make a Bergan Knight and is why he was nominated by the Bergan staff.

Emerson is a wonderful example of someone who puts her heart and soul into her work.  She takes great pride in her schoolwork and is someone her classmates can go to for support. Emerson always treats others with respect, is prepared for class, and helps others when they need it. She isn't afraid to ask questions and can always be found in a good mood. Emerson’s strong character personifies what it means to be a Knight and why the staff selected her as middle school student of the semester.
