Archbishop Bergan Closing Update

Bergan Family,

Based on the latest recommendations from local health department officials, Archbishop Bergan Catholic Schools (Bergan Catholic Elementary & Bergan Catholic Middle/High) will no longer be available for community access for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year.  This means that students and parents will no longer be able to access our buildings in order to receive assistance from our teachers and staff.  This decision was not made lightly but was decided upon in order to prevent community spread of the COVID-19 virus.  This will be made effective starting Monday April 6, 2020.  We will still be operating our Alternative Learning Plan with our students and parents being able to access the Elementary Entryway to pick up and drop off Grades K-4 packets at the Elementary School from 8am to 3pm on weekdays.  Grades 5-12 students will still be operating under the same guidelines and expectations of utilizing the Digital Learning opportunities under Google classroom, Sycamore and other software designated by our teachers.  Students are still expected to be making progress on their courses and will still be graded upon the completion and quality of their efforts.  Students and parents can still receive assistance from our teachers by calling their specific schools or emailing their teachers when they need assistance.  Our teachers will be communicating with families the best methods to stay in touch for the remainder of the school year.  As a reminder, the following press release information below outlines many of the items that we have already communicated to families.  Some new points of information to highlight include that fact that students and parents may be able to access the buildings by appointment only.  They can call their respective buildings to receive permission to gain access.  There will be a time period designated for locker clean out and the retrieving of items when it is deemed safe to do so later this summer.  As a reminder the NSAA has cancelled all extracurricular activities through May 31st, 2020.  This in effect CANCELS Prom and POSTPONES Graduation.  Graduation will most likely be held in late July of 2020.  We will also attempt to facilitate the 6th grade sendoff this summer when it is deemed safe to do so.  Please contact Principal Dan Koenig at 402-721-9683 if you have questions, comments or concerns.  Our wish is to serve you and take care of your needs during this unprecedented situation.
