Last Saturday, some of our youngest Fighting Knights got to do something most athletes only dream about: play football at Nebraska’s Memorial Stadium.
Our Bergan Fighting Knight youth football team took on North Bend at one of the most iconic venues in college football. For our elementary students, it was a moment they’ll carry with them for a long time.
Bergan Students Step Up as Officials
This day was special for another reason. Our junior and senior high school students who recently completed an Intro to Officiating class were on the field too, working the youth games as officials.
It was a chance to put classroom learning into practice, with real responsibility and real game speed. Our older Knights showed that leadership isn’t only about playing, it’s also about serving others and helping the game be fair, safe, and fun for the next generation.
Thank You, North Bend
A big thank-you to North Bend for coordinating this opportunity and for being a great partner. Their effort gave students from both communities a Saturday they won’t forget. We’re grateful for the sportsmanship and hospitality.
What’s Next
We hope this is only the beginning. Our goal is for more Bergan students to have opportunities like this in the future, whether as players, officials, or fans cheering from the stands in a few weeks.
