Shout out to the five sophomores from Bergan’s Math Club (Savannah Walvoord; Garrison Mendlik; Jack Wilmes, Joanne Shin, and Nick Kincanon) who attended Math Day at UNL, a competition of more than 1,500 of the top HS math students in the state from 97 schools. The competition included a written exam and the Math Bowl. Savannah was Bergan’s top scorer in the PROBE exam placing in the top 200 of all of the participants. In the Math Bowl, after a first round bye Bergan won their first match 5-1 and placed 6th in their class. They placed 7th in their class PROBE test. They did very well against the best HS math students in the state including juniors and seniors.
